Frequently Asked Questions

Q What are the beliefs of Reality & Resolution Professional Counseling Services?
A We believe that facing reality and exposing denial are the key elements for people to begin working toward resolution in their lives. We believe that through the therapeutic process we can assist in building healthy relationships. We believe that by enhancing the person as a healthy individual with the inclusion of his or her social network, this will result in a person having emotional and psychological boundaries that will serve as a protective fabric that support the person in making healthy decisions and reduce his or her presence in unhealthy situations.

Q Do you provide exclusive services to only Military, Professional Athletes, Celebrities, and Entertainers?
A  No we provide services to everyone however We do believe that some of the current counseling services being offered are not confronting this population in addressing their issues due to their high-profile status. And we believe that our Military
troops have placed their lives on the line for our freedom.

Q What are the main models of your programs?
A There are many models and therapy services provide within our program; however, the main model focuses on the social network model. This model is inclusive of your family, friends, and other people who may have impacted or influenced the way you make decisions or choose relationships.

It is also important to note that some of you may have spent time, money, and effort in protecting yourself from intruders in your lives; however, evidence has suggested that unhealthy situations or victimizations often occur within familiar surroundings.

Q What are some benefits of this service?
A There are many benefits with obtaining our services; however, our main goal is to create an environment so you are able to work toward peace and resolution in your life. We believe that some services and agencies would prefer to have you in chaos, and dependent on their needs to prevent you from growing as a healthy person. We believe this necessitates their ability to exploit you. We want you to benefit as a person first and not as an athlete, celebrity, or entertainer.

We also believe that due to some aspects of the military cultural, getting help maybe seeing as a sign of weakness, therefore we would like to assist our military personnel on breaking through cultural barriers as well.

Q I would like to obtain your services; how would I contact you or how can my agent contact you?
A We can be contacted by our phone numbers listed and through Dr. Darius Norton Cooper’s e-mail which is listed on our website and other marketing materials.

Q Due to my career, I would like to have confidentiality. How is this guaranteed?
A There is no guarantee; however, we will do everything possible in our control to minimize risks. First, our e-mail and 888 numbers are only checked by Dr. Darius Norton Cooper; no else has access to these lines. Secondly, our staff are Licensed Professional Counselors and are bound by ethical protocol and HIPAA guidelines to protect privacy, privilege, and confidentiality of patients and their files. During our initial meeting, additional information can be obtained regarding protection, informed consent, and risks associated with entering the therapeutic process.

Q What is the duration of your services?
A This will depend on the variables surround your situation. Services can be for one day, one week, or even one year or more. This is determined by your situation; for example, you may have a court order to attend anger management class for at least 10 hours or even 10 days—therefore, your services will be done in accordance with the court mandate.

Q Where do we meet for services and is traveling possible due to my career?
A Currently, we are located in Atlanta, GA; however, I can arrange to have an office available in other states. We can also negotiate other arrangements based on your request; however, we reserve the right to approve your location based on our professional expertise and other appropriate factors we deem to be significant in therapeutic services.

Q Is this service available for my family or just me?
A Yes, services are available for your family and our main model is inclusive of the social network. Additional information regarding this can be discussed at our initial meeting and when you decide to use our services.

Q In the past some agencies or other services have attempted to exploit me because of my high-profile. How much does your service cost?
A Cost will vary depending on needs. Yes, our cost will be higher than the average counseling service; however, we justify that because we must take extreme measures in protecting our clients and other factors such as traveling, duration of services, court mandates, and/or any other unusual requests made by the client.

Q What does this cost cover?
A The first fee will cover your initial session, and if you decide to accept treatment it will also cover your second meeting. At the second meeting we are able to provide you with your treatment services cost, in accordance with your treatment plan. As long as nothing changes, your cost will remain the same.  If there are changes to be made, we will inform you first and give you and/or your agent the opportunity to approve any changes in fees.

Q I do not want to use any other Professional Counselor except you, Dr. Cooper; is that possible?
A This is not recommended because the staff selected was selected by me personally. There are certain staff who have the qualifications and expertise in certain areas that may be more beneficial for you in therapy.  One of the most important traits of therapy is trust, and sometimes when clients prefer their own way of doing things this preference can either derail or undermine the overall therapeutic process. Please know that you are more than welcome to contact me at any time regarding your services.

Please know that staff meetings are conducted on a regular basis regarding your treatment services, and recommendations are given about what are the most appropriate services we can offer you. We welcome input from you through your assigned counselor. Please remember, no matter what treatment plan is in place, it is up to you to actively participate and work toward desired change.

Q Why do you have Keys and Doves on your website and other marketing materials?
A The Keys stand for unlocking reality and denial. The Doves stand for Peace and Resolution in your life.
